| Transport/Storage Information: | Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory. | ||
| Reference Clients: | If unable to deliver to lab immediately, store and transport the specimen at 2-8° C within 48 hours. If longer periods of storage are required the specimen must be frozen at -20° C in a non frost-free freezer. | ||
| Causes for Rejection: | Improperly labeled, incorrect container, contaminated, insufficient volume, incorrect/delay in transport, excessive hemolysis, lipemia or icterus. | ||

| Additional Information: | Reflexive Test: If positive, a cryptococcus titer will be ordered. | ||
| For monitoring therapy Titration of Antigen after first positive specimen should not exceed one per week. Bacterial contamination of specimen may cause false positive results. | |||
